I love the way the book ended. It has always amazed me how much planning J.K. Rowling did in order to write the series. I’m not at English major and have no idea how to even begin writing a novel, but it always blows my mind the amount of thought that went into all the foreshadowing and backstories in the series. That being said I think J.K. Rowling did a great job pulling the whole story together at the end. For me the ending just made everything click and fall into place. Snape is revealed as Harry’s secret guardian and all the horcrux’s are revealed to be items that we have read about throughout the series. My feelings towards Neville changes throughout the series. In the beginning he was an odd kid who seemed to lack strong courage. As the book progressed Neville found his courage. This was very evident when Neville took leading role in Dumbledore’s army and killed Nagini during the final battle. Another character that my feelings changed towards was Snape. “The mind is not a book, to be opened at will and examined at leisure. Thoughts are not etched on the inside of skulls, to be perused by an invader. The mind is a complex and many-layered thing. (H.P. Order of the Phoenix)”. This quote by Snape perfectly explains his character. His mind is a many- layered thing that becomes very clear at the end when he reveals his memories to Harry. Throughout the entire book he comes across as a mean professor who hates Harry and is on Voldemort’s side. In the end we find out that Snape is possibly the best double agent and was on Harry’s side the entire time making sure he was safe.
